Recorder, who stands under the Sumbe banner at Haras de Montfort et Préaux for €4,000, had his first winner yesterday as Pia and Joakim Brandt's Hot Queen ran out a three-length winner of the 1350m maiden at Lyon Parilly.
The colt broke well and dictated proceedings from the front, setting a good gallop and stringing out the field. He had his rivals under pressure from the top of the straight and stayed on strongly for a decisive victory.
